• Nicole

  Nicole Harrison is the Owner of The Goddard School of West Orange and of Livingston. As a mother of 4 children, she has always understood the importance of early childhood education. Nicole has a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health as well as a teaching degree in Physical Education and Health. She has many years of experience working in business prior to her teaching path. Nicole and her team are committed to providing the highest quality preschool experience for the children in the community. Our unique nurturing approach will give your child the opportunity to develop into a joyful, confident learner who is prepared for success in school and in life.

  With over 25 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, I bring a deep passion for fostering high-quality learning environments and building meaningful, trusting relationships with both teachers and families. My journey has led me to The Goddard School of West Orange, where I am proud to support and guide early childhood professionals in their daily work with young learners. I believe that every child and every family is unique—and deserves the highest level of care, support, and individualized attention. My previous roles as a preschool teacher, Director, and Quality Improvement Specialist for Grow NJ Kids have equipped me with a broad perspective and valuable experience in the field. In addition, I hold a Certificate of Graduate Study in Early Childhood Coaching and Technical Assistance, which enhances my ability to mentor educators and strengthen classroom practices through reflective, collaborative coaching.

• Donna

  Hi families! My name is Donna, and I have been the Assistant Director at The Goddard School of West Orange since 2023. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Montclair State University. I have leadership, teaching and case management experience. I decided to pursue a career in childcare because I genuinely enjoy being around all children. The innocence of children really warms my heart. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, baking, hosting fun get togethers with family and friends, and watching all things Bravo channel related (my guilty pleasure!). I am certified in CPR/First Aid, Severe Allergy Response, Including Children with Special Needs, Safe Sleep Practices, and Medication Administration.

• Eric

  Hello Goddard families! I’m Eric Alders, Vice President of Regional Operations for our West Orange, Livingston, and soon-to-open East Hanover locations. With over 25 years of mentoring children to become confident, joyful individuals, I’m honored to support the Goddard School community. For 15 years, I owned two martial arts schools, teaching enrichment programs at daycare and early childhood centers, earning recognition in the Action Martial Arts Hall of Fame for teaching excellence. As a General Manager at Starbucks, I led six high-volume locations, managing teams of up to 40 while ensuring safe, welcoming environments—skills I now apply to uphold Goddard’s high standards. As a father of twin daughters who thrived at Goddard, I deeply value early education. Married to my college sweetheart, I’m committed to creating nurturing spaces where every child shines. I look forward to partnering with our families to ensure your child’s safety, education, and happiness!

• Madeleine

  Hello, my name is Madeleine. I graduated from Hamilton College with a degree in Creative Writing. One of my early jobs after graduation was working for a literary agent whose focus was children’s books. This interest in children’s literacy and education then brought me to Hunter College where I earned a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education with a thesis on early literacy. I taught for 10 years at a preeminent Reggio inspired preschool in Manhattan. While there, I was sent to Italy to study Reggio techniques where the philosophy originated, as well as to numerous schools across the country to present and learn about educational theories. Since moving to New Jersey, I have worked with various schools across the state, providing in-class STEAM lessons as well as professional development for teachers and administration. I come to The Goddard School as Early Childhood Education Specialist, bringing my passion, breadth of experience and knowledge.

• Anayyah

  Hello Goddard families, my name is Ms Anayyah and I am a graduate of Cicely L. Tyson, where I studied performing and fine arts. I also majored in animation! I love bringing my creative side and imagination to my classroom. I feel one can teach basic skills without love, but to truly make a difference in a student's life, there needs to be love. Love sees teaching as an art where we explore different ways of connecting to subject matter and to students. Love brings patience and understanding, which are so important in teaching. In my spare time, I am event coordinator for my business where I have created a platform to help black creators in my community share their art, music , talent and skills. I am CPR/First Aid certified, safe sleep certified, allergy response trained, and child abuse trained and have been with Goddard WEST ORANGE since 2021.

  Hello Goddard families, I'm Ms. Ashley, a mom and a proud dog owner. I recently left another Goddard after five years. I love working with children and am pursuing a career as a medical assistant. I enjoy watching anime and doing nails and hair in my free time. I'm excited to be your child's teacher at The Goddard School of West Orange!   Hi, my name is Jahonna. I am a proud aunt and love working with all children. I attended the Essex County Adult Education Program. I love all things orange. In my spare time I enjoy doing party planning. I have been working at The Goddard School of West Orange since early 2023. • Leandra

  Hi my name is Leandra! I graduated high school in 2008. I obtained my CDA in preschool and completed my child development training. During my years working with children, I have cared for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and assisted aftercare with elementary students. I started out as an aftercare teacher. I have also been an assistant and a lead teacher. Working with children ensures each day will be a unique adventure. Children are exciting and very unpredictable. Nothing matches the energy of a child’s enthusiasm for life and eagerness to learn. Engaging in different tasks and activities every day, ensuring the children grow and learn to their best potential. When I am not at work, I love reading books, riding my exercise bike, art, dance, and singing.

  Marlissa Field here, and it makes me extremely happy to be a part of the West Orange Goddard. I have been working with children since 2006. Since then, I've earned my Child Development Associate in Infant and Toddler and Associate of Arts in Education, and I'm currently enrolled at the University of Phoenix to complete my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Working with kids of all ages is enjoyable, and fostering an environment that is secure, enjoyable, and instructive for all kids is rewarding. • Natali

  Hi! I’m Ms. Natali, and I’ve been working in early childhood education for the past three years. I recently graduated from Stockton University’s education program, and I’m passionate about bringing fresh ideas and creative strategies into the classroom to help every child learn and grow. One of the things I love most about teaching preschool is the joy and curiosity young children bring to school each day. My students often tell me they enjoy having me as their teacher because I’m patient, playful, and always ready to be a little silly with them! One of my favorite moments is story time—especially when I get to read Pinkalicious, which is one of my all-time favorite children’s books. This year, I’m excited to learn more about designing inquiry-based lessons that spark curiosity and make learning meaningful. In the future, I hope to teach 2nd or 3rd grade in a public school and earn my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

  Hi, my name is Ms.Sydney I graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey with a bachelor's degree in psychology. I have worked for the Goddard franchise for 3 years. I started as an assistant teacher and then moved up to head teacher. I am CPR certified, and first aid certified.   Hello! I’m Ms. Arnette Moss, excited to join the Goddard team! With 14 years in education, my students value my attention and love, especially during story time. One of my favorite children’s books is “The Cat in the Hat” by Dr. Seuss. I strive for continuous growth in my field and appreciate recognition for my achievements. I am CPR and First Aid certified, safe sleep certified, trained in allergy response, and knowledgeable about recognizing child abuse.

  Hi! I’m Ms. Ashaday, and I’ve been working in education for about 5–6 years. I’m known for being playful, active, and nurturing—I love showing my students as much care and encouragement as possible while making learning fun and engaging. One of my favorite books to read with them is Pete the Cat, because it’s full of fun and positivity, just like our classroom! A fun fact about me is that I can both sing and paint, and I enjoy bringing creativity into everything I do. This year, I’m excited to learn how to knit and continue growing both personally and professionally. I’m passionate about either pursuing a career as an IT analyst or continuing to grow in the field of education. I aim to make a positive impact on the teaching team by spreading good energy, building meaningful connections, and always striving to work harder—something I truly love about myself.

  Hi, my name is Ava Scalley. I have been working in education for over 1 year. My most loved children book is “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle. The children in my class enjoy having me as a teacher because I am silly with them, matching their energetic energy. I love giving my students comfort and company when they are sad and adding in a few cuddles to make them smile. I love to apply the information I learned about childcare in my daily tasks with my students. Most importantly, teach them positive alternatives to express themselves when it comes to things that are challenging to them. A fun fact about me is when I get embarrassed my face turns red.   Hi, my name is Chardanay Johnson. I have been working in education for 7 years. I have a bachelor’s degree in English creative writing. The children in my class enjoy having me as a teacher because I love to do story time. I care about the safety of all my children, and it is my priority to keep them safe.   Hi, my name is Chelsey and I have been working with children of all ages since I was 14. I have worked in the daycare, summer camp, and after school setting. I have a beautiful 7 year old son named Noah who has taught me (still teaching me) so much. I am currently studying Early Childhood Education in college. I love to help children develop and grow. It is beautiful to see how fast they grow. In my spare time, I love singing, watching murder mystery/true crime, listening to music, and hanging out with family and friends.

  Hello, I'm Diana. I graduated from West Orange High School and pursued higher education at Rutgers University and Essex County College. I aspire to become a pediatric nurse. I have dedicated the past 4 years to working with children, an experience that fills me with joy as I witness their growth and the depth of their young minds. Recognized for my nurturing heart and creative mindset, I hold a deep affection for purple, as well as pursuits such as baking, drawing, and coloring. It is truly fulfilling to be a part of the Goddard team!

  Hello I am Ms. Jackie and have been working in childcare for many years. I also worked in cosmetology, in accounting, and am a certified Zumba teacher. I love working with all ages of children they are so valuable and smart. I love making them happy , comfortable, and feel important. In my spare time I enjoy acting, dancing, and singing. I have acted and appeared in my first gospel movie on the big screen at the CityPex Theater in Newark last year. I enjoy Basketball, Skating, cooking, and enjoying life.   Hi, I’m Ms. Juliana Morales, and I’ve been passionate about education for the past 5 years. One of my favorite children’s books is If You Give a Mouse a Cookie because it encourages curiosity and imagination—qualities I love to see in my students every day. The children in my class enjoy having me as their teacher because I actively join in their activities and take time to connect with them by discussing their interests and ideas. My long-term career aspiration is to earn my master’s degree in mental health counseling and become a licensed counselor to better support children’s emotional well-being. This year, I’m eager to improve my skills in planning and preparing lessons that engage and inspire. I will contribute positively to our teaching team by integrating my knowledge of psychology and disability studies to strengthen social-emotional learning in our classroom community.

  Hi! I’m Ms. Kennedy, and I’ve been working in early childhood education for the past two years. I’m passionate about creating a fun, welcoming classroom where children can explore, create, and learn through hands-on, imaginative activities. My students love the creative projects we do together, and I love seeing their excitement as they discover new things. One of my favorite books to read with them is Smitten—a sweet, funny story that always brings smiles. This year, I’m especially excited to learn more about my students and what they enjoy most, so I can help each child feel seen, supported, and inspired. I bring a creative and open-minded spirit to my teaching team and enjoy working together to make our classroom the best it can be. My long-term goal is to continue growing in this field and become a lead teacher in the next few years.

  Hello, my name is Ma'kasia I feel honored to have the opportunity to work with your child at the Goddard School. I've been a teacher since I was 16 years old, and growing up with 6 siblings taught me everything I needed to know to start my career in education. During my 4 years of high school, I also had much fun practicing graphic design and cheerleading. And guess what? I even attended cosmetology school!

  I am a high school graduate, and I also attended the Cicely L. Tyson Community School of Performing and Fine Arts in East Orange. I started working with kids at the age of 14. I worked for a daycare in the city as a summer job, and ever since then I have wanted to continue a career working with children. I also worked for the YMCA for about two years. I love working with children because I want to have a positive impact on their lives. I enjoy building relationships with children as a fellow caregiver. I have been very happy to have the opportunity to learn and grow. Children have a special place in my heart. I love every kid that I come across. When I am not working, I love cooking, cleaning, sports, and music.

  Hi! I’m Ms. Natalie, and I’ve been working in education for 10 years. I bring a childlike spirit and genuine joy to teaching, which helps me connect deeply with my students and make learning fun. I love sharing the magic of stories—especially anything by Eric Carle—and bringing creativity into the classroom through music, movement, and play. I’m a classically trained singer and dancer, a certified fitness trainer, and I’m passionate about the arts and education. This year, I hope to learn a new language and earn another educational certificate to continue growing both personally and professionally. My long-term goal is to keep expanding my own education while inspiring others through the arts.   Hi! I’m Ms. Zy’Asia, and I’ve been working in early childhood education for two years. I love creating a classroom that’s both fun and full of learning. My students enjoy being in my class because we’re always finding creative, exciting ways to explore new ideas together. One of my favorite books to share with them is The Rainbow Fish, a beautiful story about kindness and sharing.   Sandra is a part of our resource team! She is a proud resident of Essex county and has lived here her entire life. Sandra has worked with children for over 20 years as a childcare provider and knew from a young age that working with kids was what she wanted to do in life. She is a proud mother of 5 and grandmother of 3!

  Hello everyone, my name is Ms. Sue! I am a loving and caring mother of five and a grandmother of six. I share my love, care, and nurturing spirit at the Goddard School in the afternoons. Everyone at the school refers to me as "Grandma." I assist and support in each classroom, and I truly enjoy working with children of all age groups!
