  Dr Alan B. Schlussel F.A.A.O., OD

  Doctor Schlussel was named to the top 150 optometrists in the nation on Newsweek's America's Best Eye Doctors of 2021. Doctor Schlussel received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from Binghamton University in 1980. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the State College of Optometry in New York in 1984. He has been in private practice for over 30 years. Doctor Schlussel is currently the managing partner of both private eye care offices in Midtown New York City and West Orange,N.J. In December of 1989, Dr. Schlussel became a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and is currently a prestigious member of this organization. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association along with the New York and New Jersey State Optometric Associations. He has been extensively trained in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease and in the co-management of LASIK. Over the past 20 years, Dr. Schlussel has developed a dry eye center of excellence within his private office. Having dry eyes himself, he has been successful at treating and managing patients with dry eyes. The Dry Eye Treatment Center of New York and New Jersey offers appointments for the treatment and management of Ocular Surface Disease (Dry Eye Syndrome). Dr. Schlussel regularly answers your vision related questions. Dr. Schlussel has lectured to a large group of optometrists on the effects of dry eyes on sports performance.

  Dr Veronica Ramsarat O.D.

  Veronica Ramsarat, O.D. is a New York Licensed optometric physician. She practices comprehensive and advanced eyecare services. Her clinical areas of expertise include dry eye, keratoconus and myopia management. Dr. Ramsarat practices holistic wellness. During each treatment lifestyle and nutrition are analyzed and reviewed. This enables her to provide a complete customizable treatment for each of her patients. Education and background: Dr. Ramsarat completed her undergraduate training at Long Island University and received her O.D. degree at Inter American University School of Optometry. She has interned in specialized practices such as NY lasik laser and Microsurgery institute, Kelly Vision Center, and Collazo Ophthalmology at Temple Health. She has also participated in service trips to Dominican Republic with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity and the National optometric student association. She is fluent in English and medical Spanish.   Dr Christine Law OD

  Dr. Christine Law received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from SUNY Binghamton and then went on to receive her doctorate of optometry at SUNY College of Optometry in 2002. She did her residency in Ocular Disease at the FDR VA Health System in Westchester, NY in 2003 and has been in practice ever since. In addition to specialized training in Ocular Disease, Dr. Law has experience working with contacts, including fitting specialty lenses and also pediatrics from age 5 and up. “I love optometry because of the relationships you are able to develop with people over time, and the opportunity to make a real impact in one’s quality of life. I believe that as optometrists we are here to provide comprehensive eye care which not only is important from a vision standpoint but also a health standpoint. As primary eyecare providers, we can detect diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure.” When not seeing patients, Dr. Law is a self-described “foodie.” She has also been involved in the OneSight Program, providing free eye exams and eyeglasses to patients in need. Dr. Law is a native New Yorker and currently lives here in Kips Bay with her husband and three young children. Dr. Law is excited to be here at our eye care clinic in NYC to care for a community that is close to her heart.

  Dr Kristen Saggese OD

  Dr. Kristen Saggese, also known as Dr. Kristen Shibley, has extensive experience fitting contact lenses and was the lead member of the #1 fitting practice of daily disposable multifocal lenses in the United States for four years. Much of her success in this area comes from her attention to detail and caring attitude. A proper contact lens fitting starts with learning about a patient's daily activities. She has training in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease, including dry eye which also plays a large role in successful contact lens wear. She prides herself on staying up to date with the latest advancements in eye care allowing her to provide her patients with the best quality of care. Dr. Saggese received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Delaware, during her time there she participated in a study abroad program in Siena, Italy where she met her husband. She received her doctorate of optometry at the SUNY College of Optometry in 2010 and finished at the top of her class. She continues to attend numerous continuing education lectures throughout the year to stay at the top of her field. Dr. Saggese is originally from upstate New York but has lived in the Kips Bay area for over 10 years. In her free time, she loves to travel, listen to live music and watch NY sports.
